The One Drop Foundation is a non-profit organization created by Guy Laliberté, founder of Cirque Du Soleil, to fight poverty worldwide by ensuring that everyone across the planet has access to water, now and in the future.

Inspired by the creative experience of Cirque du Soleil and its international program for street kids, Cirque du Monde, the ONE DROP Foundation makes use of the circus arts, folklore, popular theatre, music, dance and the visual arts to promote education, community involvement and public awareness of water issues.

The foundation delivers its aid though its “Tripod” formula: Technical support, microfinancing and education through social art.

60 million girls is a public foundation established in February 2006 by Wanda Bedard and a group of talented, creative and energetic women who strongly believe in the need to support education for girls in order to create a more just and balanced world.

Their objective is to support at least two major education projects annually in developing countries with the greatest gender disparity in school enrollment by raising funds through their Foundation.

There are an estimated 110 million children around the world who do not attend primary school – more than 60 million of these are girls. Basic literacy and numeracy skills are the fundamental tools that will enable girls and women, as well as boys and men, to take hold of their lives and develop solutions adapted to the needs of their communities and country.

Research convincingly shows that programs directed to the education of girls are more effective than virtually any other community investment in the developing world.

Basic quality education provides girls with access to health and nutrition information for themselves and their families – including helping to prevent the transmission of HIV/AIDS. It provides a safe place to grow as they learn. It gives them the knowledge to provide economic support to their family. It delays marriage and pregnancy, thereby lowering infant and maternal mortality. And an educated woman is more likely to send her children – both boys and girls – to school, thereby increasing the likelihood of future generations receiving an education.

Education of women is the key to economic productivity and political stability.

Healthy, safe, empowered girls transform families, communities and countries.

They have chosen to invest in the women of tomorrow.

They do this with the help of individual and corporate partners, all committed to the cause of feeding our children’s future.

Launched in 2005, Breakfast Clubs of Canada builds on 15 years of success and experience of the Club des petits déjeuners du Québec (Quebec Breakfast Club), which serves more than 2.1 million breakfasts to Quebec schoolchildren annually. The Quebec Breakfast Club program was recognized by the United Nations World Food Programme. It is the model Breakfast Clubs of Canada promotes for other programs elsewhere in Canada.

Breakfast Clubs of Canada saw the need for school breakfast programs all across Canada. They are currently developing breakfast programs around the country. They are also present in Aboriginal communities.

Last year, Breakfast Clubs of Canada helped serve over 29 million breakfasts and over 181,000 children in hundreds of school breakfast programs across Canada.

Egale has members in every province and territory of the country. Their Board of Directors is comprised of an elected male and female representative from each of six regions of Canada.

Egale has intervened before the Supreme Court of Canada in every gay rights case that has reached the Court. Egale has been involved in extensive public education and international activities. Egale participates in annual consultations sponsored by the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, and Egale representatives have attended the UN World Conference on Human Rights in Vienna, the UN World Conference on Women in Beijing, the International Year of the Family Conference in Montreal, and the UN World Conference against Racism in South Africa.

Egale maintains an active commitment to bringing an intersectional approach to their work, meaning that they recognize the linkages between different forms of oppression, including oppression based on race, sex, class, religion, (dis)ability, age, gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation. Respect for each individual’s full identity requires that the struggle for equality cannot be carried out in isolation from the struggle for equality of all disadvantaged communities.

There are many ways to support them
